COACHING INDUSTRY , BOON or BANE?

                                                          COACHING INDUSTRY ,BOON or BANE?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The impact of the coaching industry on the creativity of students can be a topic of debate. While coaching institutes can provide valuable guidance and support for exam preparation, some concerns have been raised about their potential impact on creativity. Here are a few points to consider:

Emphasis on rote learning:

Coaching institutes often focus on teaching students, strategies to score well in exams, which may help in blind mugging -up process and routine formula-based approaches. This emphasis on exam-centric learning can sometimes hinder creative thinking, as students may become more focused on reproducing information and their. problem solving skills fade out.

Limited curriculum scope: Coaching institutes typically have a tailor-made program to complete the topics and concepts relevant to competitive exams. This exam oriented program may not be useful for an inter disciplinary learning of the subjects and slowly the creative ability of the student will come to a naught.. Students are decapacitated to think out of box and beyond the scope of the syllabus.

Time constraints and pressure: The intense competition associated with entrance exams like NEET can create significant time constraints and pressure on students. This can limit their participation in hobbies, mind recreating activities, sports , games and their life becomes so routine, that, some times they loose interest in almost everything in life.

Standardization of teaching: Coaching institutes often force the faculty to complete the syllabus fast and under, such pressure, the Coach, will strain himself only to cover the syllabus and the problem with this is, He will not be able to pay individual attention to the students, who come in large numbers to the institutes.

Very few institutes encourage the Teaching staff, to think out of box, improve the problem solving abilities, increase imaginative abilities of the students and thus the Creative ability of the students become causality.

if your aim is to crack , NEET 2024, come on....

Don't stop. Arise, Awake, Alert    and don't   waste even one minute from now onwards. Small sacrifices will pave way for great success.

Plan your study properly and work it out                                    accordingly.

I will give you a list of" ten commandments" you need to follow till your goal is achieved.

1.    Know your BASICS.

How?!,  read  NCERT texts. Not just one time. As many times as possible. Don't mug up.
First time, when you read, try to understand the lesson.

Second time, Write the essence of the lesson topic wise, in your own words. Keep repeating this again and again till your exams.

NCERT IS YOUR  GEETA, BIBLE and KHURAN

2.  Listen to the Teacher attentively. Take down the class notes meticulously. Interact with the Teacher and get your doubts clarified immediately. Don't carry the load of confusion too long.

3. Be analytical, while studying the notes and solving the problems.

4.Start working out from the word go using a standard material.

caution:  Don't work on too many materials which will kill your time and put you in confusion too.

5. Write mock tests regularly on completion of each chapter.
Write as many mock tests as possible using online and off line resources, which will sharpen your problem solving skills.

6. Practice previous year papers thoroughly not only Neet  papers, but also that of JEE as far as Physics and Chemistry are concerned.

7. Use good reference books for each subject, which will give you insights in to the topics discussed in NCERT with elaboration and adequate examples.

caution   Dont use too many reference books , which becomes counter productive in time management.

8.Include, the points from class notes, reference books and also the example problems for each topic along with conditions, rules and exceptions in the form of stick notes

9. After writing every mock test analyze, yourself properly ,find your weakness and strengths.
Do a thorough error analysis. Rectify mistakes ,quickly and be cautious, that you won't repeat the same again.

10. Finally believe in yourself. Believe in God. Be cool and Confident. Write the exams with a cool mind set.

                YOU WILL CRACK NEET.

TECHIE CRIMINALS?????!!!

                   TECHIE CRIMINALS???????

Yes. What you saw in the title is absolutely TRUE.

I am not talking about those techies, who have criminal mind set, but , those criminals who have technical expertise.

Let us get in to the details of ," what I am going to talk about ".....

In recent days, as most of you people know, that, I am in to online coaching, I will remind you about the  notification , I had announced on my what's app status. In this connection, I also enrolled myself in Online tuition sites.

ONLINE TUTION sites , give us the information about the students ,who are interested in taking ONLINE TUTIONS.

In One reputed site, I had sent my number to those students, who enquired about availability of a Chemistry Tutor, online for NEET, Class 11 and Class 12.

They, didn't respond me , after  knowing the details ,about the fees ,they had to pay for one hour. I thought, that was a closed case.

After one month, suddenly somebody ,asks me whether, I am available to take tuitions for the same children , to whom, I had given this number about one month ago.

I thought, I can take up the tuitions, since the requested time matches me as I didn't accept any other proposals during that time.

Now, comes, the real thing, which adds the element of thrill to the story. The person, who spoke with me on the phone , introduced himself as a soldier, working at the Borders and he wants his children to be taught by me. So far, it was still a normal thing.

             I said "OK".

He said, that, that night itself, he would be leaving to Kargil as a part of his duty, and also added that, he would not be returning before four months.

He requested me to take the classes to their children , so that, he would pay the money for the four months in advance, since , no contacting or money sending device ,would be available with him, because , he would be working in an atmosphere, which is un accessible to any kind of mobiles, banks etc..

Now, I smelt something fishy in his conversation, still, with all the respect, I have for the Soldiers, I just allowed him further to speak.

Now, comes, the real point of time , in the story, where criminal aspect springs up.

He said, that, he would send me money through some Military money sending machine ( GOD knows exactly what it is?, 😉),  and enquired me whether, I have received or sent money through this military machine, any time. I said "No", Never".

He explained the procedure, then. I listened carefully, though I had a small doubt about the fellow,  I wanted to give him a benefit of doubt, just because of  my sentiment towards Soldiers.

He said that , he would initially send me one rupee to my paytm account , and I should click on the caption that appears on the screen. He sent me one rupee, and asked me to click "pay "on the caption appeared on my mobile screen. Then, I got this suspicion, as to why, I should click" pay "when he had sent me money?!!!!.....

By God's grace, something striked my mind at that instance, and immediately, opened my google pay app and transferred my entire  balance to another safe account. Meanwhile apna fauji bhaiyya  bahut jaldbaaji me was shouting at me  to click on it without any delay, otherwise, it would time out. I wanted to see, what would happen, because, I was safe then, having transferred my money to a safe account and dared to click on the caption "Pay".

He asked me, whether 1 rupee is added to my account or not. I verified and found , yes one rupee was added to my account to my surprise and told him the same. Then, I repented for a moment as I suspected this Soldier unnecessarily.

Then, He said, he would send Re20,000/- and in the same way asked me to click on "Pay" button that appeared on the screen. I promptly did the same and ....and...  " You know, what happened?",,,, yeah. your expectation is correct. The transaction is failed.

I didn't receive the 20,000/- ,as, I received, one rupee in earlier attempt. He was panic.. He asked me, whether, I had transferred any amount from my account to some one else's before, I clicked this pay 20,000/ amount on the screen, that was supposed to be sent by this man....

I said "yes. I did". He said , that was the reason, why, I didn't receive the 20000, and  he also added that I , require to maintain a balance of 10,000/- at least, for the operation to be successful . He insisted me to give , any other account , I hold ,where, I had min balance of Rs10,000/- , so that, he could effect the transfer of amount immediately.

I blocked, the number immediately and gave a complaint to cyber crime cell.

" Do you know, What was to follow?" .....A message from my Bankers, asking me "whether, to allow the transaction to the account  and debit 20,000 from my account?" . "Did you understand the fraud?"...."Also, you can guess, what would be my reply to my Bankers"....

Now, having understood that, I was safe , I wanted to check on my "paytm" transactions. "YOU know, what happened?"...      1 re/- was added twice to  my account , and  1 re/ was deducted once from my account, showing 1 re/- more than my previous balance, which made me trust the fellow initially. How ever , just because of the God's grace,  it sparked in me to transfer all that, I had to , another account and it saved me from ,what could have been a pathetic situation.

      Two lessons from the episode:

      1.   Never believe anyone , not even, when he introduces himself as, Soldier, Teacher,  etc,..

     2. Never click "Pay", during a transaction, when others are  sending you money, from what ever GOd damn machine, they might be sending the amount to you.

There are teachers who can teach. the teachers too a lesson or two..😉😌😌😎

ADIPURUSH REVIEW Om Raut's RAGHAVAYAN OF RAGHAVA SITA AND SESHU

These days, the trending story everywhere is RAUTAYAN  i. e. , The celluloid version made on the basis of the great epic Ramayan as claimed by the makers of ADIPURUSH.

The elder generation of India are well familiar with the epic Ramayan, however the same thing can't be said about the middle aged and younger generation.

Middle aged people are familiar with Ramayana through movies brought by Great directors like Bapu,  B. V. Reddy etc..

Movie goers, mostly belong to the younger generation,  knew Ramayana through Amarachitra kadha like series and also through Ramanand sagar TV serial.

It is inevitable that these people compare the present movie #Adipirush# , with those classics and only when, they feel if it matches with those earlier movies then alone, they accept ADIPURUSH,in big numbers.

As of now, different reviews have come about, how far it could reach the audience. This is more important to the society at large rather than it's commercial success, however as of now it is reported that the grandly hyped movie is still short of the break even at, the time of writing this article.

I for one, who is in deep love with Valmiki Ramayan, and The Epic Hero Lord Rama ,may not be able to relish ,these improvisations which take the story away from it's essence and hence refrain from watching such a movie.

However  I advice the younger generation, not familiar with Ramayana should watch the movie and also follow the trolls on the movie so that, they get an interest to know the Ramayana as told by Sage Valmiki, Tulsidas and yester Year greats and also the celluloid marvels brought by the Greats like Bapu, Ramananda sagar etc..

This helps the retention and continuation of our rich cultural heritage from one generation to the next and upholds the Classical richness of Valmiki Ramayana till the Sun. Moon ,stars. Earth exist as wished by the great epic poet, Sage Valmiki himself.

As per the reviews available from different sections of audience, these are the things that can be safely said about the movie.

1.There are so many deviations from the original like

         A)  the important episode of abduction of Sita by Ravana

         B) The introduction scene of Hanuman to Raghava and Seshu

         C) The fight between Vali and Sugreeva where the Rama kills Vali from behind a tree as per the original is omitted

          D)  Lankhini  , Surpanakha etc characters are minimised

          E) Vibhishana's Wife is elevated which deviates the original Ramayana to a great extent

          F) The language spoken by Hanuman was said to be like an illiterate common Guyin the movie Adipurush, where as Hanuman is a great erudite Scholar in different grammars,  Scholar in Vedas, excellent orator, gifted with rare spontaneous wit and unfathomable knowledge.

        G) The battle scene was said boringly elaborated, beyond a limit, without giving importance to the actual epic like Agastyas mantropadesa (Aditya Hrudayam) to Rama, etc, giving unnecessary importance to the scenes which are averse to many like,Mandodari shown as widow even before Ravana enters the battle field,  can really hurt the sentiments of those who love Ramayana in its original form.

How ever the movie made as a Pan Indian movie must rise the interest of the younger lot to wards the Original story and they are adviced to take their grand parents with themselves to watch the movie such that the bonding between the generations, improve and also the younger lot gets to know what is originally presented in Valmiki Ramayana, that would make an enlightened country, which continues to take pride in its rich heritage.

The Grand parents  may also get to know , from their grand children  the technical expertise  of the makers of the movie in picturisation of the heroics of Raghava ,Ravana  ,Hanuman etc at different instances in the movie .

Finally, it can be said that it is a timely released movie, which may pave a way to other Directors  , who are interested to come with other plots based on MahaBharath, Puranas in Epic Style.

I wish Om Raut, Prabhas and other crew of the movie Adipurush all the best and great success too.

CHAMPION

        He is a champion.

                 The beginnings

              ---------------------------------------

In southern part of the country, particularly in the rural areas, I still see the people bound to their culture and may be because of the lack of facilities in their villages and the reluctance of the parents, to send their children to towns for studies, most of these children study with the medium of instruction , the regional language belonging to their state.

This Champion of our tale went through such situations and pursued his school studies in local schools, pursuing the state board syllabus with the regional language as the medium of instruction.

All though, the boy scored well, in his class 12, he has this problem of Language. There are no institutes or individuals who can offer coaching for competitive exams in the regional language, and the boy had to join in the institutes, where, lecturers come from different other parts of the country and would teach their lessons in English medium.

He has to cross two hurdles. One, the Language and the other improve the subject knowledge, so as to match the requirement of Medical entrance exam.

He took the short term course like all other students, on completion of class 12.It is this period,  I noticed the dark complexion boy with sharp eyes, always biting his nails, may be the habit developed due to the nervous situation he is in, used to make his presence felt asking wonderful logical questions ,with cautiously woven sentences in English.

I understood he was clever enough to cope up with the task and it was only a matter of time that he had to prove his ability.

He couldn't score well in the crash course, because of this short comings and he joined in long term course.  He sharpened his logic constantly fighting with the language constraint, consistently reading the prescribed text books, material seeking clarifications slowly, steadily, he improved his knowledge.

He started scoring well, right from the word go, showing his prowess as a champion to other contenders and also causing delight to the teachers.

The way he used to fight against the language barrier was a case study in itself,  how children coming from rural back ground, with regional language as medium of instruction can over come the constraint and stand as a winner.

His passion towards the goal, his interest to seek the correct solution, his perseverance in studying line to line in the text book, his relentless effort to understand the subject analatycally, with the help of the mentors, co students, made him a strong contender for the top rank.

He was obedient to the core, representing the ideal Indian student, respecting the teachers, helping other students in their studies, he has shown a strong character to stay at the top till the last.

One mock test after the other his competency increased and was always among the top three in the academy.

After, the final exam he coukd make it to the top few by scoring a very good total.

I wish him all the best in his future endeavor and I appreciate his valour to fight against all kinds of tough situations. His ability to mould himself to the demands of the situation and this is what makes him a true champion in my view and I reascertain his success story can be a case study showcasing, how a boy from rural back ground without , proper schooling could become a hero just because of his will to do.

                     Signing off

Winner

When, I ponder over to pick up the heroes of my success stories, this boy comes as a pick of choice, not for his heroics, but, because of his down to earth attitude.

He is a boy hailing from a small village ,in India belonging to southern states. He started his schooling in Schools, which are not so resourceful, and, the environment was not suitable to try out competitive exams and get selected.

I saw this bright boy, when, I was to go there to  give a series of lectures, twice a week, in this school situated in a downtown hamlet nearby our Academy. He was a late entrant in that year in this school, where state syllabus was followed. He came in the middle of the year from some other place. How ever, he made himself so comfortable with the ongoing course and was so keen in following the lectures.

He was one guy, who stood out ,to appear for  All India Engineering entrance rather than medicine ,though, he has a choice of appearing for medical entrance, because ,he pursued Bio, Maths  combination like many others in the state. His choice was tough owing to the nature of the exam and the type of schooling he had till then. He was very confident, despite the difficulties at least that appeared to be there on the paper.

I along with other colleagues completed our course, intended to help the students to appear for competitive exams just before their Board exams started.

After their board exams were over , some of those students in that school came and joined in crash course in our academy, where as this boy preferred to prepare on his own staying back at home. Some how, he managed to get a reasonably good score, although not sufficient enough to get in to reputed Engineering institutes.

The following year, he joined in our academy and started to attend the classes ,staying in the hostel. I always saw a spark in the eyes of this boy ,gleaming  confidence of a would be winner in the race.  How ever, I thought, had he selected medical entrance, he would have been one among the toppers in that stream, but, his selection of Engineering stream might not be that fruitful.

He was a humble guy, down to the earth, who has always shown promise, improving himself from one test to the next, and always keen in getting the doubts clarified, asking the legitimate questions pertaining to the lessons, that were taught. He soon found his areas of weakness and strengths ,and identified, where he should improve himself ,and where he has to work out on the speed required ,immediately sprang into the action keep improving himself time to time.

He asked me to revise ,some of the important chapters ,where he required to improve his basics and some other concepts, where he can go to the maximum depth. He toned up his logic, his temperament, his analytical skills and confidently appeared the exam. Here, I would definitely say, that our coaching was heavily leaning on medical entrance stream rather than Engineering stream, and the students appearing for Engineering stream would get a lesser attention than the other stream. Still, his confidence, his obedience towards the teachers, his attention towards learning the subject, his undeterred approach to crack the exams come what may helped him secure the highest percentile, in the preliminary rounds and secured a very good rank, that would definitely help him to get a seat in any decent Engineering college.

His aim was to crack the highest level exam conducted at All India level in that stream and started preparing on his own ,from then on wards except occasionally enquiring the teachers ,about, which reference books ,that should be followed and one or two puzzling questions sometimes. It is his sheer will, his determination, his fighting spirit that lead him to the success ultimately, and made him a winner at that Highest level exam in the Engineering stream.

I applaud his relentless efforts, his character, his obedience, his patience and confidence, that lead him to the pinnacle of the success.

Some students get fame because of their Teachers ,like Arjuna ,because of Lord Krishna and some teachers, get fame, through their, students like Sandeepani . the teacher of Lord Sri Krishna.
He is a student ,who brought laurels to his Gurus because of his self discipline, character and ultimately the success ,he deserves.

let us meet on another blogging day ,with another interesting success story and, for now,

                                 Signing off

Success story

                                                            SUCCES STORY

Hi all,

it is quite absorbing and interesting to see how the people struggle, to move up the ladder and reach the peaks.

It becomes more interesting, when you have an opportunity to watch them from a very close distance, where, every small emotion appears in magnified pixels.

Yes, it is still more exciting, when you are a part of every small leap forward.

Let me narrate you one fascinating story, that inspired me in recent days.

    .........................

That was the first day of that summer crash course session, exactly, one year before. I was to

address a class of students appearing for a prestigious All India medical entrance exam.

These students have completed their Class 12 and joined in this crash course of near around thirty days just before exam date.

I entered in to the class room with same enthusiasm, I carry with me everyday. I saw the children, standing up and greeting me. I asked them to take their seats and started of with my lecture.

I briefly explained , how interesting the course would be and also elaborated on the advantages of appearing such a short term course ,although, I must have sounded little harsh, when I explained, why such a short term course would serve the purpose of showing just the tip of the iceberg and not all of it.

I saw this brilliant little girl sitting on the front bench with wide eyes filled with hope and cheerful attitude, sat through out the session listening with rapt attention, taking down the notes gently, intervening only when necessary, asking legitimate doubts, again writing down all that was explained.

The days rolled down, very fast and almost everyday, I would look around to spot her in the class room and go with my lectures as usual.

I found her missing in the class room, one day and I asked a colleague, if, she had attended his class that day.

He said that she was absent as she has to appear health check up.

I was little surprised to note that at that tender age of about 17 or 18 years a health check up necessity would arise and later I learned that she had some severe spinal chord related issue.

         This caused

a bit of disappointment, inside my heart ,thinking ,whether ,she would be able to take all the classes and write the exams properly.

To my surprise, despite her health issue, she never missed to sport a smile on her face while the class was going on...

....... The crash course came to completion. These children appeared the exam along with other repeaters. The results came. The Students from repeaters batch in the institute did remarkably well some of them even scored out of out in a subject or two and many of them joined Medical colleges.

The students who attended the crash course couldn't perform to that extent and most of them joined the repeater's program for the following year.

This pretty girl joined along with some others in the repeater's program.

After, the orientation course was over, I called her by her name and enquired about her health. She said she was undergoing treatment and frequent sittings with Doctor is a necessity so as to keep her normal. Also, she was surprised to know, that I remember her name and asked me about the same. I replied saying, "yes,! I remember very few names of my students and her name was one of those few."

She smiled as usual in her way and dispersed to hostel.

---------------------------------

Every class during the repeater's program, she used to sit in the front bench...follow the lessons carefully ,jotting down the notes, radiating brilliant smile all around whenever I used to share a joke or two with the class.

She did all these things ,hiding the pain and probably anxiety too about the uncertainty of how long the medication would be required.

Sometimes, she used to be sleepy, may be due to the medication she has to take and occasionally used to miss the classes due to health check ups and Hospitalization.

It is amazing to see the girl making a comeback every time she was put down by fate in the form of hospitalization.

She took everything in her stride and interact with me in particular and other teachers in general, clarifying doubts, coping up with the chapters she missed because of her bad health.

Somehow the Repeater's program came to close. Children started to write mock tests. She maintained her composure all through despite severe pain she was suffering from. She wrote all most all the mock tests and didn't budge on to the pain. She was steadfast , focused , attentive to the core, doing error analysis after every mock test completion, seeking guidance ,rectifying the mistakes, coping up with health stress and till the time of exams ,she stayed back in the hostel and studied methodically and religiously.

She stands as an epitome of a perfect fighter, fighting against all odds and I used to admire her courage ,wits and composure during that time. I wished  and blessed all the children as ,the time for exams came and they all wrote the exam well.

It is a matter of pride, to me personally to have taught her as a teacher and also to the institute as she came out with flying colors scoring and becoming one of the toppers of the class.

Character ,Determination, Will power, Ability to learn, ability to bear the pain, perseverance, patience to acquire knowledge, application , improving the logical thinking, and above all the Confidence on herself and consistent efforts,  made her to become one of the toppers in the class.

She continues to inspire me as a "Girl with NEVER SAY DIE ATITTUDE ".

Let me present you ,another success story ,next time , we meet.

                                                      Signing off

                                                        Sree...............

                                                          GROUND REALITY

          Hi all,

it is moment of great festival, grand gala time for corporate colleges and National brand colleges, announcing the ranks achieved by their students.

Although, I wish all those students a great future, and appreciate  their brilliant efforts to achieve those ranks, I feel sad about the state of education system in which , many a student is missing the opportunity to display his brilliance in such an exam. This is a different topic, which can be discussed later as my intention in this letter is not to describe  the fate of those less fortunate people

Coming to the Stark reality, let us consider a few numbers involved in the game of NEET selection process.

                        1. Total number of  students appearing in exam :      20 lakhs nearly

                       2. The number of Students qualifying in exam           11 lakhs nearly

                       3. The number of seats available                                  1 lakh nearly

that is, just 0.5 percent of those ,who appeared are getting in to medical colleges and 99.5 percentage aspirants are getting disqualified after spending whopping amounts in Coaching factories

almost per head around one to three lakhs on an average.

Almost 16 lakhs of entire Student population join in Corporate colleges ,that is about 80 percent and of them only about 0.6 percent are qualified annually to enter in to medical colleges.

To be clear, only 60 to 65 thousands get selected and remaining have to either repeat or, take another course reveals, the hollowness of the performances ,of the corporate colleges and their money mongering nature.

It is a myth ,that every corporate college going boy or girl will get a seat in NEET or IIT.

How ever, the marketing gimmicks of these colleges have brought the over all situation and psyche of an average parent in India, to think that, if he is un able to admit his child in to such a college, he is worth nothing and putting the future of the child at cross roads.

Another important thing is, the amount of money wasted on 99.95 percentage students ,who are not selected comes to a shocking sum of rupees 498 crores, which is almost wasted without serving it's purpose.

It is pity that, the poor parents are forced to join their children, in such factory like colleges and helplessly ,they watch most of their children not getting selected.

Then, what is the right course for all those concerned to adopt, so as to secure the future of their children?

This is a million dollar question hovering around many a Parent in this country........

NEET 2023 results

NEET 2023 results have been announced.

Two students got 720 out of 720.

One hails from Tamilnadu and the other from Andhrapradesh

One state where,I recently worked as a Chemistry Teacher(TN) and the other state ,my native state.(AP)

Although ,securing above 550,is considerably, a heavy task, the children, who have access, to the coaching institutes, modern equipment, and learning tools have a better advantage than those who do not have those things.

This competitive exam ,like many other competitive exams is not providing a level playing field to all the students is a matter of concern that should be considered, immediately by the people who matters most.

It has been common experience to many of us ,who are following, these results since the inception of the entrance exams ,that ,most of the results follow same predictable pattern, that is Students belonging to Corporate Colleges bagging all the coveted Ranks, leaving the remaining to the other colleges.

The cost of education has become so taxing to a middle class parent, due to the advent of these so called corporate colleges and making lives of middle class as well as poor miserable.

If, education remains as a privilege of Wealthy and Urban population, the  other half of the country always remains in dark.

I humbly pray all those, who can make a difference with  their decision, take an early call to improve the situation, bring in better changes, in the Education system.
